I was introduced to the NYX line of cosmetics through another beauty blog about two years ago. The line is very economical, even compared to drugstore brands like L’Oreal, and the color selection and quality rivals MAC.
My favorite product from NYX is the eye shadow singles and I generally stay away from the shadow trios as they are less pigmented, but there is one exception – the Lake Moss trio.
At first I thought Lake Moss would be just very deep burgundy, blue and olive colors like they appear in the pan, but they actually have a black base to them, so they look mostly black with some sparkle (the photo of the swatches makes them look lighter than they actually are when you’re wearing them). To achieve the color as it looks in the pan, try applying it over something like a MAC Shadestick, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil (more on these to come!) or a L’Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Crayon.
The trio is amazingly pigmented and reminds me of the NARS singles Night Flight and Night Clubbing, but for a fraction of the price.
