Truly A Magical Primer

My pores could rival the moon’s craters in size, and usually primers let me down by either not minimizing the appearance of the pores or simply by sinking into them.  Silicones also make my cheeks breakout, so I pretty much have always forgone primer in favor of one of the Japanese oil-fighters I reviewed a few days ago.

Still, I am a sucker and always willing to test a primer just for my nose and sides of my nose.  So, when Avon introduced their MagiX line, I decided to try their regular primer and sure enough, it was a bust.  It smelled bad and made no difference in the appearance of my skin at all.  It wasn’t expensive, so I just chalked it up as a loss, gave it away and forgot about it.

Well, a few months later while surfing the Avon site, I came across another MagiX product – this time a tinted primer in a compact.  I couldn’t help myself.  It was cheap and my finger was hitting the order button before anything could be done.

My expectations were exceedingly low when the box arrived.  The next day I patted some on my nose area and my gosh, I actually said out loud, “You have got to be kidding me!” The stuff really did smooth out those craters and did not sink into them! It blended like a dream and left me looking like I had *gasp* nice skin!

It does have its share of silicones, but if you’re not sensitive to them or can use them on certain spots on your face without problems, I highly recommend this little product.  MagiX is indeed a great name for it.

You can find it on for $10.00.

Taryn, did it help keep oilies away? And does it feel light on? I find most primers make my makeup feel much heavier….

Desiree (this is Taryn, BTW!), it doesn’t really keep the oilies away, which is why I always prime with one of my Japanese grease-buster products first, but it does feel light on and you only need a little dab. I only use it on my nose, sides of my nose and chin, but it didn’t feel heavy or greasy at all.
